Weather Hazards

There are many weather hazards in the aviation world; titans rule the weather, and humans will be forced to live by these titan's rules. A thunderstorm is a nightmare for the aviation world, along with heavy rain, hail, and lighting; a pilot has to worry about icing due to the cold nature of the thunderstorm (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Icing can make a flying aircraft unflyable and plummet to the earth; ice can build up on flight control surfaces and will increase weight and drag, but will also decrease lift (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Wind shear is the bread and butter of thunderstorms because extreme vertical wind shear creates severe thunderstorms (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Thunderstorms have intense wind direction changes in the storm and around the storm, so turbulence goes hand in hand with them; aircraft can hit downward turbulence and force it to lose hundreds of feet within seconds (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Thunderstorms also can have micro-bursts that shoot out the bottom of the storm; the air will force aircraft down and possibly lose complete control of the aircraft (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Not to mention tornados are included with thunderstorms. Tornadoes can happen when a mesocyclone is formed inside the cumulonimbus cloud (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). They can destroy airports and make them inoperable for some time (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Talk about one of the enormous titans: the hurricane; hurricanes are made up of thousands of thunderstorms simultaneously; one thunderstorm has the equivalent power of a nuclear bomb, imaging how intense a hurricane is (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). These titans force planes to change their flying direction because they can use airplanes as lawn darts. There are many weather factors in the aviation world, but none contain all the factors like a thunderstorm.
