 Weather Hazards Class, There are many weather hazards in the aviation world; titans rule the weather, and humans will be forced to live by these titan's rules. A thunderstorm is a nightmare for the aviation world, along with heavy rain, hail, and lighting; a pilot has to worry about icing due to the cold nature of the thunderstorm (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Icing can make a flying aircraft unflyable and plummet to the earth; ice can build up on flight control surfaces and will increase weight and drag, but will also decrease lift (Ahrens & Henson, 2019). Wind shear is the bread and butter of thunderstorms because extreme vertical wind shear creates severe thunderstorms (Ahrens & Henson, 2019).  Class, The ATC entities for this post are Gander Oceanic, Shanwick Oceanic (North Atlantic) ATC, compared to Anchorage Oceanic, Tokyo Oceanic (Pacific) ATC. These two are operations and procedures that happen in the two oceans connecting to the untied states. North Atlantic (NAT) operations are the busiest ocean airspace globally, with 460,000 average yearly flights ( North Atlantic Operations,  n.d.). Direct ATC communication and surveillance are not available in the NAT, so extreme safety measures are taken ( North Atlantic Operations,  n.d.). While over the NAT aircraft are not allowed to change route or altitude while on a flight path; aircraft must be at the designated altitude and approved on the entirety of their flight before entering the NAT region ( North Atlantic Operations,  n.d.).   Environmental Impact Of Airport Operations Class,  An environmental impact of airport operations that plays a significant role for airport managers is airport noise. Airport managers have to make sure that the sound of the airport is not violating the city the airports are in, so they have to take precautions to keep the airport running and the city they reside in happy. Excessive noise in a city is simply an unwanted sound (Visser & Wijnen, 2008). The two main factors they have to consider are the intensity of the sound and the sound frequency (Visser & Wijnen, 2008). With these factors, they have to consider cumulative noise, which is all of the movement of an airport over a specific period (Visser & Wijnen, 2008).  Class, The topic for this post is the Aviation and Transporation Security Act (ATSA) (Kaplan, 2006). This act, in particular, was critical in shaping the aviation industry. The events of 9/11 are a terrible but true thing that happened, and it is the post actions that make it safe to fly on planes now, knowing all of the appropriate safety measures are being taken. The ATSA was created by the Transporation Security Administration (TSA), the act implemented more thorough screening procedures (Kaplan, 2006). The screening now included screening passengers, their bags, using metal detectors, using an explosive detection system, requiring passengers to remove their shoes, not allowing specific amounts of fluids. Some are good, some are bad, but the human factor is applying a human to a product, how they work on the product, their abilities, and their limitations ( About HFES,  n.d.). The human factor leads to errors because, let us face it; we are all human. In aviation, the human factor leads to accidents accounting for 80% of all accidents, mainly when pilots come in for landings or takeoffs (Aviation Supplies & Academics. Terrorists can use a technology threat to challenge the Transportation Security Administration. The rising technology can also deter terrorists in aviation; The main problem is cybersecurity within this contactless world we live in due to COVID-19 (Karoly, 2021). The use of self-automation machines rose dramatically in 2020 and will continue to grow through our current year, 2021 (Karoly, 2021). These contactless machines give terrorists another means to locate and attack vulnerabilities (Karoly, 2021). If they could bypass these machines, they could access software systems, and TSA should be the only one to have access to these systems. This threat of cybersecurity is scary, but it will not be a problem with excellent deterrence practices. Many problems can come with a hydraulic failure, and the worst is a complete loss of control of an aircraft. On small aircraft, it simply controls wheel brakes, retractable landing gear, and some constant-speed propellers (United States Federal Aviation Administration, 2016). On bigger commercial aircraft and larger military airplanes, the hydraulic system is utilized for major flight control systems, such as alerions, elevators, and rudders (United States Federal Aviation Administration, 2016).
